My Midwife's Hands
Written by Lucia Schilb for
Her midwife, Sharon Schmidt
My midwife's hands are full of love, No doubt sent from God above.
My midwife's hands are safe and strong, If anything should ere go wrong.
My midwife's hands are full of grace, When she beholds each tiny face.
My midwife's hands are steady yet, Because her heart on victory set.
My midwife's hands are gentle too, Lives she's held, they be not few.
My midwife's hands are seasoned well, Oh the stories they could tell.
My midwife's hands are clean and pure, Coming from a heart that's sure.
I would not trade my midwife's hands, For all the doctor's in the lands.
Dear Lord, keep safe the hands tried and true, For in service they are to You.
When hearts of mother's gladly sing, New life these hands will always bring.
